Princess Mary Suite

This camp has been around since the mid 90’s and is built on a raised part of the river bank some 17 kilometres upstream from the Falls and 30 minutes drive from the airport. The camp is well designed to take advantage of the views across a wide bend in the main river and the perspective from camp is wonderful.

The central area is delightfully colonial in style with old books, silverware and plenty of photographs to complete the illusion that one has stepped back in time. This feeling is further enhanced on meeting the owner manager Peter Jones, an ex British army officer with a passion for the history of the area.

The camp sleeps a maximum of 20 guests, the rooms were designed to be open fronted but inquisitive monkeys amongst other unwanted wildlife have forced the fronts to be screened in recent years. The rooms are split level and extend out from the steep river bank. There is a pool with a fantastic elevated view of the river and also a croquet lawn.

Princess Mary Suite

A luxurious double storey villa situated in a secluded garden with a private pool, the Princess Mary Suite offers an intimate experience for families or groups of friends seeking privacy and space.

Named after the Royal Princess Mary, who represented the Queen at Zambia's Independence in 1964, the suite is just as enigmatic and charming as the person to whom it pays homage.

The suite can accommodate two to six guests.

Upstairs is the Master Double Suite with a king-size bed wrapped by a walk-in mosquito net, and full bathroom en-suite (shower, double vanity, private lavatory – the ball and claw bath is located next to the spacious bedroom with views over the river). The upstairs master suite also has a private balcony facing the River.

Downstairs, the second, private bedroom has twin-single-beds enveloped by a mosquito net, a lounge-living area, mini-bar and dining area. The second bathroom (not en-suite) has a double vanity, large walk-in shower, lavatory and dressing room.

Two additional single beds can be arranged in the downstairs living area to accommodate a total of six guests.

Guests may choose to dine privately in the comfort of the suite or join other guests at the main lodge.
The Princess Mary Suite has overhead fans above the beds, air-conditioning units (cool or warm), a hotel-type safe, hair-dryer, a mini-bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. In the event of power outages, the inverter/solar battery back-up system runs the overhead fans, as well as certain lights and plug sockets.

There is 1 Princess Mary Suite, that sleeps 4 guests (with 2 extra single bed available).
