Day 1
Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport you will be met by our representative and assisted with baggage before being directed to the domestic check-in counters for your flight to Mfuwe in the South Luangwa, this flight will take just over an hour.
Day 1 – 3
Mchenja
The journey from the airport to camp starts off among the local villages before entering the National Park itself. From the entrance of the Park you will hug the Western bank of the Luangwa River for an hour or more heading north towards Mchenja Camp. This trip takes you through some of the best game-viewing territory in Southern Africa and you will be amazed by what the South Luangwa has to offer even before arriving at camp.
Mchenja is one of the Luangwa’s best appointed camps. The tents are custom designed, each has a roll top bath and stunning views of the river, there is also a small pool which offers some relief in the warmer months. Game-viewing throughout the Luangwa is excellent and very varied you will have ample opportunity to explore the area both on foot and in open 4x4 vehicles.
Day 3 – 5
Chinzombo
Your home for the next two days is the wildly luxurious Chinzombo Camp. 6 Villas all similar in style with an open plan structure in a beautiful position on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River. It is located 1 hour from the Mfuwe Airport by road and then private access by boat to the camp. Its contemporary design is something new for Zambia but surely is now the benchmark by which all other camps will be measured. Relax and be spoilt! Take in all that Africa has to offer.
Day 5 – 9
Chongwe Suites
When you leave South Luangwa, you will fly via Lusaka to the Lower Zambezi.
Chongwe River Camp is set on the bank of the Zambezi River close to the western edge of the National Park and just 10 minutes away from Royal Airstrip where you will land. It is a tented camp offering the full range of activities available in this wonderfully diverse Park, you will be able to see stunning game on foot, from vehicles or from the water in boats or canoes.
There are two suites at Chongwe each one with its own plunge pool. The Albida suite with 2 room’s ideal for families or friends and the Cassia Suite with just 1 room is perfect for honeymooners.
Day 9-11
Tongabezi
From Royal your scheduled flight to Livingstone will route via Lusaka and your trip will end at one of Zambia’s most romantic camps. Tongabezi is set on a large bend in the Zambezi River some 20kms up-stream from Victoria Falls.
There are plenty of activities on offer in the Livingstone area and whether staying in one of their River Cottages or in one of the renowned luxury houses, Tongabezi is a wonderful place to relax after a busy day, watch the river slowly amble by and start planning your return to this part of Africa.
Day 11
A 30 minute road transfer will take you to Livingstone International Airport where you will connect to your onward flight.
