Chindeni Bushcamp

About 3 hours drive south of the main Mfuwe area this camp is usually combined with one or other of its sister camps in the Bushcamp Company stable. There are 4 large tents set on wooden decks overlooking an ox-bow lagoon, the Luangwa is not far away and views to the South East look over the Nchindeni hills that impressively stand guard over this section of the Luangwa Valley.

The ebony and tamarind trees around provide good shade for the camp and the tents are nestled into surprisingly thick ground vegetation. Activities can be a mixture of drives and walks but as with most of the remote Luangwa bush-camps, the emphasis is on walking and it would be a shame not to take good advantage, there are only a few roads in this area, no other tourists and the walking terrain is excellent.

The season at Chindeni is a little longer than most remote bushcamps but still not as extended as that of Kapamba, Chindeni is open from the 1st of May through until the 30th of November.
