This camp was constructed and opened in 2015, it is an 8 bed bush-camp about an hour’s drive from the main Mukambi Lodge. The camp itself is set on a smallish permanent lagoon, whilst the central chitenje is slightly raised and overlooking a small beach to the water’s edge, the rooms are intriguingly set several meters above ground and as a result offer both privacy and excellent views.
The rooms are essentially fairly standard meru-style safari tents but their free-form canvas roofs and en-suite bathrooms out back offer a quirky and interesting slant on your usual bush-camp, the result, in my opinion, works very well indeed. The camp is open from early June through until the end of November.
