Kafunta Lodge

The camp is set downstream on the Luangwa from the main Mfuwe area. There is a pontoon across the river situated close to camp which provides very convenient access to the Park during the peak safari months, the drive from the bridge is probably about half an hour making this a less attractive destination out of season when this journey would be included twice in each activity.

The rooms are raised on decks with wooden walls and thatched roofs, they are large and well designed. There was quite a lot of up-grade work carried out in 2019 with renovations done to the chalets and a re-designed deck around the infinity pool, the central bar and dining area has an open-air veranda and the pool is close by. The perspective of the camp is excellent with views over water holes and grazing lawns to the Luangwa River and Chichelle Hill in the background.

The rates are set slightly below most of its fully inclusive neighbours making it a very good option for many that are trying to keep costs down just a little. For even better value their package prices when the main camp is combined with their Island Bush-camp are very reasonable indeed.

There are 8 double chalets, and 2 luxury suites (which can sleep 4 people) so 24 beds in all.
