Lolelunga is a privately owned reserve in Zambia’s north-west, covering 30,000 hectares in the Kaonde land, around 30 km north of the Kafue National Park. The lodge sits along the Lunga River, offering uninterrupted views from each of its seven rooms — three Standard King Rooms, two Junior Suites, and one Family Suite that can be divided into two rooms. A newly built Ngoma Deck offers an elevated space for sundowners, private dining, or an optional sleepout under the stars.
Access is via private charter, with flights landing directly on Lolelunga’s private airstrip, a short five-minute transfer from the lodge. Despite its remoteness, the transfer logistics are straightforward, with flights available from Lusaka, Livingstone, Lower Zambezi, or Mfuwe.
The lodge design combines natural stone and thatch with a modern layout. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, and well equipped, each with an indoor shower, large bed convertible into twins, and river-facing verandas. The central area includes a dining space, gym, spa, rim-flow swimming pool, and shaded deck overlooking the Lunga River.
Activities focus on the surrounding riverine ecosystem and reserve. Morning and afternoon game drives are led by licensed guides, and walking safaris are offered in cooler hours. Guests can also enjoy guided canoeing, archery, and catch-and-release fishing on the Lunga.
Meals are fresh and uncomplicated, with ingredients sourced locally and dishes adjusted to guests’ preferences. The lodge accommodates families and children of all ages, though walking safaris are restricted to older children.
