Mwamba Bushcamp

This is a rustic bush-camp set several kilometres in-land from Kaingo camp and on the Mwamba river course. It would most commonly be combined with Kaingo and the transfer would invariably be on foot as a morning walk with your bags being driven to camp but guests can always opt to make the trip by vehicle as well.

The camp itself is simple by design sleeping only 8 guests in 4 reed and thatch rooms with large open-air bathrooms. Mwamba nestles beneath an impressive grove of evergreen ebony trees and each room has a quirky skylight above the bed, essentially this is a large hole in the roof protected by mosquito gauze enabling guests to lie in bed at night beneath the trees and sky above.

In line with Derek and Jules’ passion for photography and the company’s reputation as one that caters more than any other to photographers, there are 3 hides in close proximity to camp each overlooking a watering hole. Ideally 2 nights in this camp would compliment 2 or 3 spent at Kaingo but it can of course be combined with any other Luangwa camps, the area is aesthetic, game-viewing always good and like any properly remote Luangwa bush-camp you won’t be encountering other tourists in the area.
