Pioneer is set outside of town to the north east, it is 25 minutes drive from the airport on a fairly poor dirt road, it is a convenient option for those budget conscious guests that are simply over-nighting in Lusaka as a result of early or late international flights.

It is simple by design with 11 modest chalets set in bushy surroundings; it certainly offers more of a safari lodge feel to it than any of the town based hotels although there is no wildlife to speak of.

The camp offers a reasonably priced overnight package that includes dinner, bed, breakfast and return airport transfers.
