The new Takwela Camp is located on the main Luangwa close to the confluence of that and the Mwaleshi River. The camp opened in July 2019 and has been constructed in a similar way to its sister camp Mwaleshi, with just 4 chalets (8 beds) it is a very simple, rustic and an incredibly intimate camp with a lot of character.
There's no better way to experience this remote part of the Luangwa, than with the proper 'bush folk' from RAS.
Based on the past experiences we've had at Takwela's sister camps in the South Luangwa National Park, we're expecting a nothing less than a high standard of guiding here.
