Waterberry

Waterberry Lodge

There are 7 rooms but the configuration of the camp is such that some of the brick and thatch chalets are better suited to families with a larger room and something smaller that would suit kids. There is a pool in the well maintained gardens as well as a natural inlet from the river which is excellent for birding. The central two story building contains bar and dining areas and has good views across the river as it flows past camp.

Waterberry River Farmhouse

This private house is set on a plot adjacent to Waterberry Lodge, guests from the Farmhouse are allowed to venture over to the lodge but to be honest I’m not sure they would want to. The Farmhouse has 4 bedrooms, 2 larger and 2 slightly smaller and is taken on an exclusive basis. There is a large open-plan living space in the middle of the building leading through sliding doors to the veranda with views across the garden and pool to the Zambezi river just meters away. The kitchen is incorporated in the house and guests are encouraged to treat the whole set-up as their home for the duration of their stay, there is an open fire-place for cooler evenings and air-conditioning for warmer ones, meals prepared by your chef can be taken inside or on the veranda.

The chef and household staff are exclusive to the Farmhouse as is your guide and you have a boat dedicated to your activities so nothing has been forgotten.

For families or small groups of up to 8 people this property is an excellent option for a stay of 2 or more nights in the Livingstone area.

The Woodlands

The Woodlands is a small tented camp set amongst the natural woodland at Waterberry Zambezi Lodge, just outside Livingstone. The area is home to an abundance of birdlife and smaller wildlife, with bushbuck often seen grazing around camp and hippos occasionally wandering through at night.

The tents are comfortably furnished with double or twin beds, dressing areas, en-suite bathrooms and private verandas overlooking their own little gardens. There is a central lounge, bar and outdoor seating area tucked amongst the trees, while Waterberry's main restaurant, swimming pool and sun decks are just a short walk away along sandy paths. Guests also have a dedicated butler and groundsman available throughout their stay.

The Woodlands offers a slightly different experience to staying at the main Waterberry Lodge, with more of a traditional tented safari feel whilst still having access to all the lodge facilities. It is particularly good for keen birders or those simply wanting a quieter spot to relax, and the camp can also be taken on an exclusive-use basis.

Ideal for the more budget conscious clients that are looking for a private lodge feel but not wanting to pay the prices associated with most of the smaller exclusive camps.

The drive from Livingstone airport is about 35 minutes and this is included in the rates, the camp, in line with it neighbours that are out of the main Livingstone town area are more activity based so walks, birding and fishing trips as well as picnic lunches and the like are all encouraged and included in the rates.

Waterberry has worked hard on its product delivery in recent years and receives consistently good reviews for its personalized attention to detail.
