12 Nights Conservation Focused Itinerary

Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative who will assist with your luggage and guide you to the domestic terminal for your shuttle flight to Lufupa Airstrip in Kafue National Park.  

Days 1–4  
Musekese Camp

Your first stop is the exclusive Musekese Camp, where you will spend three nights. Set on a ridge overlooking a seasonal floodplain, Musekese offers a secluded safari experience, with just five comfortable, airy chalets designed to blend into the environment.  

During your stay, enjoy thrilling game drives, boat safaris, and guided walking safaris, providing opportunities to see Kafue’s incredible wildlife, including leopards, lions, elephants, and an array of birdlife. A highlight of your visit will be a trip to the Musekese Conservation Base, where you will learn about the critical conservation efforts being undertaken in this region to protect wildlife and ecosystems (donation fee included).  

Day 4  
Board a shuttle flight back to Lusaka, where you will connect to a scheduled flight to Jeki Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi.  

Days 4–7  
Chiawa Camp  

Spend the next three nights at the renowned Chiawa Camp, a luxurious lodge situated on the banks of the Zambezi River. During the shoulder season, enjoy a special Stay 3, Pay 2 offer.  

Chiawa Camp offers unparalleled wildlife encounters, with activities such as canoeing, game drives, walking safaris, and sunset boat cruises. Between activities, relax in your spacious, elegantly appointed tent overlooking the river.  

A visit to the Conservation Lower Zambezi Base is included, where you’ll learn about the vital conservation projects working to protect this spectacular region (donation fee included).  

Day 7  
Depart Chiawa Camp with a scheduled flight from Jeki Airstrip to Mfuwe in South Luangwa National Park.  

Days 7–9  
Mfuwe Lodge  

For the next two nights, unwind at the beautiful Mfuwe Lodge, famous for its location near the park entrance and its unique visitors – elephants often wander through the lobby during mango season!  

During your stay, you’ll visit the Conservation South Luangwa Base, where you will gain insight into the organization’s initiatives to preserve wildlife and habitats in the region (donation fee included). You will also take part in a village visit, offering a glimpse into local life, as well as tours of Mulberry Mongoose, a workshop creating jewelry from snare wire, and Tribal Textiles, where you can see beautiful, locally crafted designs.  

Additionally, you will receive a conservation keyring from the Bushcamp Company as a token of your commitment to conservation efforts.  

Day 9
A vehicle transfer will take you to the Bushcamp Company Camps, your next destination.  

Days 9–13  
Bushcamp Company Camps 

Experience four nights at the Bushcamp Company Camps, a collection of intimate, luxury bush camps located deep in the South Luangwa. These camps provide an authentic safari experience, offering opportunities for walking safaris and game drives in areas teeming with wildlife. Each camp is unique, with its own style and charm, ensuring a memorable stay.  

Day 13  
Conclude your journey with a scheduled flight from Mfuwe back to Lusaka, where a representative will assist with your check-in for your onward international flight.
