Upon arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you will be met by a representative who will assist you with your baggage and guide you to the domestic terminal for your scheduled flight to Mfuwe, the gateway to South Luangwa National Park.
Days 1–2
Tafika Camp
Your safari begins with one night at Tafika Camp, located on the edge of the South Luangwa National Park. This charming, owner-run camp offers a warm, personalized safari experience.
The spacious, open-fronted chalets are built with natural materials, blending seamlessly into the surroundings. From the camp, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Luangwa River, along with excellent game-viewing opportunities.
Activities include game drives, walking safaris, and unique experiences like cycling safaris. Tafika is known for its incredible guiding and its location near the Nsefu Sector, a wildlife-rich area teeming with lions, leopards, and elephants.
Days 2–4
Big Lagoon Camp
Spend two nights at the remote and exclusive Big Lagoon Camp, part of the Chikoko Trails. Accessible only on foot, this camp offers a unique, off-the-grid experience deep in the South Luangwa wilderness.
Big Lagoon Camp features intimate, rustic accommodations overlooking a beautiful lagoon. Here, you’ll have the chance to truly immerse yourself in nature, with walking safaris led by expert guides being the main activity. Expect to encounter diverse wildlife, including giraffes, buffalo, and countless bird species, in this pristine and untamed landscape.
Days 4–6
Chikoko Trails Camp
Continue your walking safari adventure with two nights at Chikoko Trails Camp, another secluded gem within the South Luangwa.
This camp provides a simple yet comfortable wilderness experience, with elevated chalets that offer sweeping views of the plains and wildlife below. Walking safaris take you through remote areas inaccessible by vehicle, providing intimate encounters with the park’s wildlife and a deeper connection to the environment.

Take a scenic charter flight from Lukuzi to North Luangwa National Park, where the next chapter of your adventure begins.
Days 6–8
Mwaleshi Camp
Spend two nights at Mwaleshi Camp, a remote and rustic camp set along the Mwaleshi River in North Luangwa National Park. This camp offers an authentic wilderness experience in one of Zambia’s most untouched parks.
The camp consists of four open-fronted chalets made from natural materials, ensuring minimal impact on the environment. Walking safaris are the highlight here, offering unparalleled opportunities to explore the park’s pristine wilderness and encounter its rich wildlife, including lions, wild dogs, and large herds of buffalo.
Day 8
A charter flight will take you from North Luangwa back to Mfuwe, followed by a scheduled flight from Mfuwe to Lusaka. Upon arrival in Lusaka, you will be met by a representative who will assist you with your onward international flight check-in.
